Introduction 

Have you passed the first stage of Chevening scholarship??

Are you going to do the interview soon?? 

Today, I would like to share with my two times of experience with Chevening interview questions and I will share with you Chevening scholarship interview tips. . Although I did not get the scholarship because I could not get an unconditional offer, I do believe that we all can get some benefits from my experience.

The interview is one of the most important stages in the process of applying to Chevening scholarship. It is the stage of evaluating your leadership and networking skills through face-to-face communication. This is your greatest opportunity to show off skills as an influential leader who can contribute to his/her country. It is also your chance to talk about your plans and the benefits of these plans to your country, community and the world.

However, Chevening interview questions are all about what you have written in your essays but in different ways. Therefore, should read your essays carefully before you attend the interview. Here are some essential tips for every individual section of your Chevening essay. 

1. Leadership

- Have a personal definition of leadership. 

- Don't copy any definition of leadership from anywhere. 

- Don't talk about leadership for a long time. Save your time to give examples from your experience. 

- Have in your mind a person who you admire as a leader and why. 

 -Demonstrate your leadership skills through examples from your professional experience. 

- Show the panel how great leader you are by giving examples of a time when made a change. 

- Don't list your leadership qualities, but give evidences of your experience ( tell a short story). 

- when giving examples, focus on the most effective ones in which you make a great change in your work and your team or people around you. 

2. Networking 

- Have a definition of network and how you communicate with others. 

- Give clear and simple examples from your experience. 

- Understand how networking can help leaders to influence others. 

- Think of how you are going to build a global network and establish strong communications with the UK. 

- Give examples of a time communicate with others and how these communications shaped the person you are now. 

3. Universities and courses

- understand your field of study well before the interview. 

- Have clear and convincing reasons for your choice of the courses. 

- Understand how these courses can help you to contribute to your country development. 

- Read about the UK donations to the field of your study in your country. 

- Read about the three universities that you have chosen and their cities. 

- Have clear reasons for your choice of everyone. 

4. Career Plans 

- Have clear and reasonable plans for your future in the UK and after. 

- Know well what motivated you to choose these plans. 

- Have short term and long-term plan. 

- Keep your plan connected with your field of study. 

- Understand how your plans can help your country development in your field of study. 

- State how Chevening can help you achieve these plans. 

General tips 

- understand all the national and global current affairs in your intended field of study. 

- Say your examples and stories in a narrative way. 

- Don't rush when you talk or go too slow. Just be normal. 

- Organize your essay in this way: 

1- Introduction: show off your philosophy of leadership and what are your specific leadership skills. 

2- Examples: evidences of your leadership skills that you mentioned in the introduction. 

3- Conclusion: how are you going to use your skills to be an influential leader in the future. 

- Don't write too much on a specific point. - Be clear and simple. 

- Use the STAR technique to describe the examples of your experience. 

S = the situation you were in. 

T = the tasks 

A = the action that you did to achieve your goals. 

R = the results (what did you achieve?) 

 These are the most essential points that I have learned from my experience with chevening interview questions. Please remember that if you do not make that does not mean you cannot. Great leaders fail but never give up. Stand up for your dreams and ambitions and you will make it. Finally, I hope that I could help.
